Threads, Meta's app competing with X has reached over 200 million users according to Adam Mosseri. Despite being smaller than other Meta apps, Threads has grown rapidly since its launch.      INFOPINTAR - Threads thr application competing with X has now surpassed 200 million users according to a recent statement from Meta executive Adam Mosseri. This milestone was reached just one day after Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg mentioned that the service was nearing this landmark during the company's latest annual earnings meeting.

Despite still being smaller compared to other Meta apps, Threads has seen rapid growth since its launch. Last month, on its first anniversary, Zuckerberg announced that Threads had 175 million users and speculated that it could be the next app to reach a billion users. "We have been building this company for 20 years and there aren't many opportunuties to develop an app with a billion users.

Clearly, there is a lot of work to be done between now and then, " said Zuckerberg. Growing the user base will be crucial for Meta's ability to monetize Threads. Which currently lacks ads or a business model. "Zuckerberg added that they develop new products and over several years scale them up to create not just a consumer experience but also a substantial business". While Threads has capitalized on controversies surrounding the X platform, Meta is still figuring out how to position its app as a viable alternative.

Mosseri and Zuckerberg have stated that they do not want Threads to promote political content to users unless explicitly requested a policy that has raised questions among some Meta employees. Threads' "for you" Algorithm is also widely considered slow in keeping up with the latest news and current events. Mosseri recently acknowledged this issue and mentioned that efforts are being made to improve. "We haven't been fast enough and we are actively working to get better there, " He wrote in a post on Threads.
